Homelite 900G
This 900G spent the majority, if not all of it's life, in the Northeast corner of upper New York; not the West coast as most of these are associated with. More than likely it was a farmer's saw that had the occasional large timber or firewood which he needed a large saw to cut. This saw now has a home in MN.
I was really pleased with the speed and the ample torque. The early 900 gear drives are also quite pleasing on the eyes. Mechanically these saws are easy to work on and gaskets aren't terribly difficult to cut if not able to be found. Crank seals are easily found at any bearing-seal distributor. Tillotson carburetor kits are still available.
My final evaluation for the saw: Well built saw mechanically, tremendous torque and easy to work on. Most importantly, fun to run!!!!
