Homelite XP 1100 G
This gear drive was picked up from a farmer in northern IN. He had several older saws from the 1960's, this being the largest of the bunch. Pretty big for even that neck of the woods. It sat around for a good while going off the cob webs, dust, and splashed green paint on the saw.
A brief look over and your looking at an 1130G or 3100G style gear drive. Horizontal reed port piston set up as with most big ol'Homeys of that period. No Anti-vibration, manual oiler built in 1965-66 makes this a physical saw to run. Sporting 1/2" chain on a long bar, bucking or felling would have been a true work out with the power head weighing 19.5lbs. I wasn't able to really get a good running representation of the full out power as the saw needed a full to over mech.
All in all it is a solid built 100cc saw that was made for some aggressive cutting! Running 1/2" pitch chain and being able to get a 60" stock bar with it says every thing!!! A great saw to run in big wood or whip out to make mulch at festivals and shows.
